Why have a
dental crown?

A dental crown is a highly natural-looking restorative option, designed to mend damage that compromises a tooth’s structure, integrity and overall function. As they cover the entire external surface of the tooth, a crown offers a complete reconstruction that blends perfectly with your natural smile.

Crowns are an excellent solution for teeth that have had numerous fillings, suffered significant decay or have general wear and tear that needs a more robust repair. We can also use crowns to provide an aesthetic and reliable finish after successful root canal treatment.

What is involved in the treatment?

We first ensure that the tooth’s internal structure is intact and that there are no signs of infection. We prepare your tooth by removing a layer of tooth structure, making sure we leave a strong core.

We take a digital scan of your teeth and record their colour so your crown can be made to fit perfectly. We have an in-house CEREC milling machine to create your new restoration.
When your crown is ready, and we are happy with the design and fit, it will be fixed in place with a strong dental adhesive.
